Astrodesign has long been involved in HDTV research in Japan. At this year’s NAB Show the company is showing several new products, including a solid-state memory video recorder, a high-end video monitor and a bleeding-edge monitor.
The HR-7500 is a portable solid-state memory recorder that records uncompressed HD. The DM-3400 is a 56-inch LCD monitor that ramps up to “4K” (4,096 x 2,160 pixels).
Even more advanced is a 20-inch FED monitor. FED is short for Field Emission Technology, a nanotechnology that utilizes thousands of elements per pixel — a promise of high-contrast, saturated, clear images. Also on the menu are the HS-7044 HDTV quad screen splitter and SC-2055A multiformat/multi-input/output scan converter.
