EVS Expands Automation Offerings

Belgium’s EVS has several expansions and evolutions of its automation and workflow solutions. Leading the list is the addition of native support of Avid’s DNxHD and Apple’s ProsRes 422 codecs for the XT[2] media server. XT[2] is also now friendly with Apple’s Final Cut Pro due to the recent Gigabit Ethernet upgrade to the server. Also new for the XT[2] is EditRec, a VTR module designed for use in the linear editing workflow.
Moving downmarket is a new media server, the XL[2] low-resolution hardware system. The XL[2] will mimic the high-res XT[2] but with lower resolution. Its main applications will be for media control and monitoring duties that do not require high resolutions.
