TASCAM Intros Portable Digital Recorder

TASCAM has stepped into the burgeoning portable digital recorder market with the DR-1. The DR-1 uses removable SD cards (a 1GB SD card ships with the unit) for recording MP3 or WAV files. Sample rates are 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz with 24-bit precision. Dual variable angle mics are attached to the DR-1.
Additional features include an AGC, switchable low-cut filter, limiter and a USB 2.0 port for transfer to a computer. An unusual feature is an “overdub” feature for recording narration over an existing track/recording.
