Belgium-based Barco comes to the NAB Show with a renewed spotlight on providing high-quality monitors for the professional video industry, be it for broadcast or the burgeoning worship market.
With that in mind, the company has introduced a new 23-inch HD reference monitor, the RHDM-2301. Three components set the new monitor apart from other solutions on the market, according to Joel Maelfeyt, senior business development manager for Barco: integrated calibration sensor technology for accurate and long-lasting color capability; superior motion handling due to scanning LED backlight technology and a 120 Hz LCD panel; and color accuracy thanks to a true 10-bit panel and 48-bit processing.
Barco is also sharing a stage at the Technology for Worship Conference, where several Barco multiple-projector displays and two new NH-12 projection systems are showcasing a worship production on a large curved screen.
The NH-12s, delivering a total of 24,000 lumens, are being blended to create a high-definition, color-matched double 1080p experience.
Behind the scenes, the company is putting its Encore and ScreenPRO II video processing and presentation systems to work to demonstrate image control and visual effects.
For smaller facilities, Barco is introducing the SMV-116 audio and video multiviewer. Features on this 16-channel SD/HD multiviewer include the ability to handle up to 256 channels of embedded audio, up to 32 channels of external audio, monitoring of any four pairs of audio streaming via LAN, and monitoring of up to 32 channels of demuxed audio. The compact multiviewer is designed for OB vans, smaller editing suites, master control and digital playout facilities.
New solutions continue with the introduction of the DCS-200, a dual-channel switcher designed for the houses of worship market.
Barco is also showing established solutions like the ImagePRO-HD signal processor; Version 2.1 Networked Broadcast Monitoring Software; the SV-2 second-generation streaming video card; and its Display Consistency Management Software.
